1 线驱动，long line drive，A相信号由A+ A-2个端子输出，接收端也有A+ A-，通常使用双绞线，目的是消除长距离传输时寄生在线路上的干扰电压。因为干扰是同时作用在2根线上，接收端做减法运算，就得到纯净的方波了。 长线驱动是一种通用抗干扰手段，很多计算机-显示器使用这种技术后可以延长到几百米。
2 集电极开路，oc，输出信号相当于无源触点，靠接收端与电源正极之间的上拉电阻作用到输入点。这样无论接收端需要何种电平15或24，都能使用。反正由接收端提供信号驱动。
低档编码器通常只有电源正负、信号ABZ，可能是电压输出或集电极开路输出；
中编码器大多有长线输出，如果距离短，可以将A-B-与电源地短接，也能使用。
源型（source），电流是从端子流出来的，具PNP晶体管输出特性；漏型（sink），电流是从端子流进去的，具NPN晶体管输出特性。
