由于纵差保护的构成原理是基于比较变压器各侧电流的大小和相位，受变压器各侧电流互感器以及诸多因素影响，变压器在正常运行和外部故障时，其动差保护回路中有不平衡电流，使纵差保护处于不利的工作条件下。为保证变压器纵差保护的正确灵敏动作，必须对其回路中的不平衡电流进行分析，找出产生的原因，采取措施予以消除。
