传统的电阻性触摸屏在屏的正面涂两层近似透明的传导性铟锡氧化物(ITO)，两层之间用隔离物隔开，当用力压在一起时可产生一个开关动作，但这种触摸屏很快将走入历史。电荷迁移感应(也称为QT感应)可提供更可靠的动作和省掉一层铟锡氧化物，从而改善了光的传输和对比度，并降低了所需的背光级别和节省了功率。其应用范围可从手机和PDA显示屏扩展到家用电器。下面讨论一下它的工作原理。
QT传感器芯片对一个感应极进行充电以完成电容性感应。在简单的触摸按钮情况下，感应极可以是任何传导性物质，但对触摸屏来说，它一般是一块位于显示屏的覆盖透镜下面的铟锡氧化物区域。与电阻性触摸屏不同，它仅需要一层铟锡氧化物，从而大幅降低了铟锡氧化物的成本，并简化了结构。基于QT传感器的触摸屏结构如图1所示。单层铟锡氧化物淀积在一个清澈的塑料(PET)薄膜上，该薄膜再使用透明胶绑定在显示屏的玻璃或塑料前盖板的背面。
