图 1 中所示的NPC 拓扑的共同特点是，在正常工作期间，相输出端U 的电压相对于中性点N在+1/2DC 和-1/2DC 之间交变，即极性发生变化。这一点对于在NPC2 拓扑中N 点和U 点之间的IGBT 形成双向开关特别有意义。图2 所示为当外部开关（此处未显示）分别导通和关断时这些IGBT 获得的电压。
