AI系列人工智能调节器设计串级调节系统时，采用了一个副调节器（PD）系统功能选择允许外部给定，副主调节器加入一些比主信号提前反应扰动的补充信号（即前信号）使得在扰动发生后主信号还没有明显变化时，调节系统就进行调节，因而能及早消除扰动对主信号的影响，有效地控制主控量的变化；副调节器的给定信号由主调节器的输出信号来校正，副调节器直接控制执行器去操纵阀门。如果外部给定的电压信号小于1V，则自动取消外部给定功能，而改用内部给定值。
